Spin Class and Spiked Sparkling Seltzer

Smirnoff Spiked Sparkling Seltzer Combo

Last week Joe and I attended an event with Smirnoff to try their new Spiked Sparkling Seltzer and I have to say it was totally perfect for us. Typically events put together to showcase an alcoholic beverage are done in some kind of a cocktail party setting, but this one was different in a really great way. Don’t get me wrong, we’re always down for a good cocktail party, but Smirnoff decided to put the focus on something a little different this time—health.

The event was held down at Cycle House over in Santa Monica. Here’s how the night went down: It started out with a 45-minute spin class (yes, a spin class!), followed by a hydration break, then wrapped up with healthy snacks and their new drink. If you haven’t tried the new Spiked Sparkling Seltzer, let me tell you, it’s pretty tasty. They come in Watermelon, Orange Mango, and, my personal favorite, Cranberry Lime. With only 90 calories, 1 carb, and 0 fat it really is the perfect option for when you want to socialize with a drink, but don’t want to undo all of your hard work getting in shape. I thoroughly intend on stocking up for my annual trip home for the 4th of July (lots of boating, lots of beers).

The spin class itself was intense to say the least. Neither Joe nor I had been to one before so we had no idea what to expect. To be completely honest, I thought there was a solid chance we were being pranked for a moment after the class first started. But no, apparently that’s just how crazy these things are. You won’t be hearing any complaints from me though. As far as first classes go, this wasn’t too shabby a way to experience one.

Smirnoff’s Spiked Sparkling Seltzer is 4.5% ABV and available as 12 oz. cans in packs of 6 or 12 nationwide.
